They do. I think for the most part they use the rear wheels as a reference in some way. There are things to check for and measure as well. In some cases, they have some kind of shims to make rear wheel adjustments. All I really know is there is more to it than setting caster camber and toe |

Well, not to be all keyboard commando, but I do alignments, and a 4 wheel align is just not your every day alignment for Mustang or any vehicle that is rear wheel drive and has a solid rear axle.
Shimming it will only move caster some, but nothing of any significance much less improvements. Plus, it does nothing for rear toe, which unless the rear end is bent, should be fine.

Using all 4 sensors on a RWD vehicle will only give you the thrust angle. The only info that gives you is whether the axle is cockeyed or not.

Damb John sorry to hear about the car. Another shining example of why I dont drive mine in the rain. Glad your OK and the car is repairable.
Darren is an excellent choice for the body work. As for the Mechanical part Id say have a FORD dealership look at it since her insurance is paying for it.

Maybe we can figure out a way to get some aftermarket exhaust on her in the process. I suppose the insurance carrier isn't going to pay for that but I can cover the difference or something like that. Quote:

dude that fuckin sucks! Hopefully its not too major. But a big +1 to takin it to a dealership. Since its not on your dollar might as well have it done right. At least to get the mechanical stuff all ok'ed.

What does everyone think 'bout which part to get done first? The mechanical checks at a dealership or the paint work? I drove all the way to Houston and nothing seemed broken but I think one or both of the rear shocks may be busted... I could get those repaired/replaced at a dealership...
