wedding day car crash

On Steve's advice I'm gonna start this for more attention. Any one interested in doing the repairs please respond or PM me. I can leave the car in any of the 3 big cities Dallas, Hoston, or San Antonio...

So, now that I have had some time to relax...

On the wedding day in Dallas it was of course raining. Ruined the picture location that Terrah wanted to use but we worked our way around that... afterwards we jumped back into our vehicles to head to the place for the ceremony... still raining... I was in my car by my self and Terrah was in a car in front of me with her brother driving. We were both at a complete stop at a stop light about 3 blocks from the place to be. I have a habbit looking into my rear view mirror for people running into me. This time I got what I was looking for.

The lady was looking down into her lap for something, older woman, but not too old to be taken off the road. She decided to slam her brakes about 2 foot from my rear bumper. Her car nose dived under mine and that's that. The damage is mostly visual, but I still want to have everything mechanically checked out to be sure nothing in the rear end is damaged. I did spend a lot of money on it last summer... Plus the exhaust pipes look like the old echo tips on the back of a Big10 chevy, all pointed out to the corners!

The car is in Dallas at her parents house and I haven't gotten anything done with the claim yet... Any suggestions on where to take her? I've gotta drive to Houston tomorrow morning and then back to San Antonio Friday... I wanted to get (I think) Darren to do the body and paint work, but what about checking out the mechanical parts... who on here would be willing to deal with the insurance company on getting paid... anybody volunteering?

Hells yeah Steve knows how that works!

Not sure if Jody is going to want to deal with her insurance company though Jena.... It's her fault and the claim has already been filed but I haven't been able to get anything at all done with it. For obvious reasons.

sucks to hear, man. good news is you will get full retail to replace the damaged ones, and you can pick up exhaust parts here for next to nothing. for body parts, i know certifit was very cheap. google it - i wanna say they have locations in dallas and here in SA. all of 88gt's former customers swear by him, and is great - especially for the money.

I don't have a problem looking at the car. So what exhaust does the car have on it, can you tell if the gas tank was damaged? As for the rear bumper cover, I think most of the aftermarket stuff does not have any lettering on them, such as Mustang or Cobra. If the cover is not ripped, it should not be that big of a deal to fix. I do know the '99-'04s rear covers do have a tendancy to rip when they are hit low in the center.

I get new Ford OEM parts for a little more than half of the list price
I could check the underside, measure stuff, look for dammaged components etc. If it all checks out/gets replaced and takes a 4 wheel alignment ok, its done. Or you can have Sonic Blue do the mechanical and alignment.
