wet sanding?

well my buddy works at a body shop and we were talking and he showed me a car he wet sanded and oh my gosh what a shine!! MIRROR FINISH! well i asked him to do my car and he said he would. But i asked him how much he would charge and he kept saying, " jus give me what you want" and i know some of yall are gonna say low prices, but it seems like a lot of work. So whats a good price, i dont want to lowball him.

I'd start with asking him around how long it will take to complete the job.

well i called shops and to wet sand a mid size car it runs thru 500 - 800 dollars and i was like damn!!! so i called my buddy and offered him $400, and to my surprise he said " fuck that dude jus give me $200 and a 30 pack and we call it a deal, so i guess i lucked out and well i just finished dropping off my car and should have it back sunday, cant wait to see her!!!

Wet sanding it labor intensive by itself, not to mention after it is done then it needs to be buffed out to shine and to take it a step further, taking out the swirls and spider-webbings.

I wet sanded my car once, (by hand with a soft block and 1000 grit paper), took me 6 hours from the middle of the car and up, then compounded with micro-finishing compound using a high speed buffer and a final buff with a foam bonnet and a good carnuba wax..! It made one hell of a difference once done, but the years now of neglect have left it so so. Mine is green and a 96 too, so the paint is almost done... time for new paint or car!
