Okay, so Ford Racing it is. where is a good place to get them? about the best price i have seen is at Latemodel Restoration in Waco. Also, i know i need crush sleeve, pinion seal (i think those 2 are included) but what else? should i buy that big $100 install kit? i dont want a whole bunch of extra shit left over, seems since the gears are Ford I shouldn'y need to do much shimming and stuff huh?
thanks for the help and advice

Install kits, depends if you're doing it or someone else. You can get a good kit for $80, or just specific bearings locally like at autozone. I'd get a kit though, as it'll have good bearings and shims and seals and bolts, etc., which you may end up needing and you should replace with new ones anyway. Usually though if you install FRPP (Ford Racing) gears, you're existing shims will be fine; you'll want to make sure your pinion shim is especially correct! ![]()

well you must remember that frrp gears are made to fords standard wich may or may not be a higher tolerance then the base motive line

Motive gear might cut some Ford gears but they are not the same , not even close to it . I've set up a shit load of Ford Racing gears and have not had any issues . Using Motive gears is about 50/50 and its just not worth the risk any more . The last two sets I did were a Ford 9 3/4 and a GM 14 bolt and both came back within 3 months or less ........ I sent the gears back to Nogalitos and they sent them back to Motive . Motive told me I set them up wrong . Funny thing is , I ended up using used OEM gears to replace both sets of Motive gears and neither came back nor made any noise at all . Motive brand gears are crap .........plain and simple .

regardless all the gears that come in a frpp package are made by motive not just some.
Motive has the contract from ford and has had it for about 2 years now. as i said .. the reason that the frpp gears dont have issues is frpp has higher tolerance and they match ring and pinion sets as a matched set where motive does not.
