Either the JLT or K&N CAI. JLT gets alittle bit better #'s, but not by much.

I purchased the JLT RAI for the 2003 GT I had ,and one for the Bullitt. Comes in your choice of colors and you can get the RAI, like I did, that leaves the filter in the stock location, but comes with a heat shield, or you can get the CAI, which is the fender-well kit. I didn't get that one because of rain and driving thru puddles and crap.

It's made of PVC piping.. you can basically make the kit yourself from parts at Home Depot.. the plastic tubing is huge. You can fit your arm in it. The air will stay cooler, unlike other metal "cai's".

If I were to get another one, I'd try the C&L kit, or maybe the one from MRT.

JLT or C&L would be the best bet. They both look good and perform the best.

Yes. JLT makes a CAI that is a big, long tube that places the filter in the fender. They also make the RAI (Ram Air Induction), which is what I have.
The filter is in the factory location, under the hood, and the tube to the throttle body is shorter.

Install is a hell of a lot easier, too...but still a PITA.

If you compare the tubing of all of those to the JLT, Steve, you'll notice they all look... really small.

I believe the inner diameter of the JLT is 4". All the others are between 2" and 3".

I agree.
But, I just think the products that Mac & BBK offer nothing but "hey look at me" to an engine bay. Once they get warm/hot, you're better off with with the factory plastic intake tube.

I have MAC on all my vehicles and have not had any problems with them. I did find that after the MAC CAI certain brands of gas worked better than others.
04 4.6 2wd Expedition averages 17.8-18.4 hiway mpg daily
02 4.6 2wd F-150 Supercrew averages 15.8-18.0 in town mpg daily
01 4.6 2V Mustang 15.1-17.3 mpg in town trip, not a daily driver.

Trucks are running Chevron 87 octane, Mustang uses Chevron 93 octane cause it's got a Superchips ECM chip that requires 93. Using any other brands of gas results in a 3-4 mpg decrease. Why don't really know.

To reduce underhood heatsoak on the Mustang I switched to a Hypertech 160 deg. t-stat and 1 180 deg. on the F-150.

Take it FWIW, this is by no means hard scientific facts, just has been my own personal experiences.

Steve I showed no improvement on the dyno with the mac fenderwell job I had. The only thing that changed on the graph was I was running lean though the tb and plenum added to that I'm sure.

I did notice it breath better but i had the tb and plenum also.

I would honestly do that mod last or not at all. Unless you're just trying to spruce up the underhood look.

If thats the case I would look at the JLT rai/Cai, K&N fipk or the demuolet(sp),. I think the k&n is the cheapest.
