What is HO?

What is H>O> in a 302 5.0 motor? just curiose.

It just is a marketing thing...High Output...

Maybe some differences but that's what it is.

Yea, and correct me if im wrong, but the h.o. motor is a roller cam equipped from the factory, and the 'oh so high flowing e7 heads' ......

retired 1990 Tx dps :T-5, stock bottom 302, shorty headers,o-r x-pipe, ported explorer true gt 40 heads, matching intake. E-cam 1.7's, pro-m 77, 24lb injectors, 3.90 gears.
good for mid 12's on stickies.

lincolns with the 5.0 were not the same as the mustangs 5.0 - i know they had a "hotter cam" but dont know about the heads. the High Output (Mustang) version made a little more power.

Yea there was some mercury cougar's with 302's And the hp rating was like 175 lol, so im not sure they were "h.o." But I do know i have seen some lincons with an h.o. style upper intake.

It's considered the High Output motor due to a 351W roller cam..
