What kind of exhaust for my 01 v6

This summer i am going to have a job and that means possibly a little extra money. I want to put a better exhaust on my car so it will sound way better. I was thinking some flowmasters. Any suggestions otherwise? How much do you think this would cost me??

    Thanks

i would do longtubes first they will compliment your exhaust tone, people say catted mid pipes sound the best on the 6 cylinder but im running longtubes, off road x-pipe and flow master 40series and have gotten some compliments on the exhaust tone. i havent really heard anything else besides flowmasters in person on V6's. some say spin techs pro street muffler sounds good to. what are your plans for your car?

longtubes are good, i'd say get some high flow cats, i dont really think 6's sound very good without them, either go true dual or a H, X's make a more raspy sound. i've only heard flowmasters on a 6 but i've heard magna flows sound pretty good, but it's all up to you and what your taste is

come on court no need to be sarcastic, you can find a nice used set of longtubes for 150-200 bucks, a mid pipe from 99-04 GT for 50, flows are cheap now-a-days, flow tubes are 50 bucks and then tail pipes arent hard to come by, at least its not single port

"longtube headers" they replace your stock "short" headers, instead of your mid pipe coming up to meet your stock headers the longtube headers will extend all the way down and under the car up to where your cats are now. hopefully that makes sense to you lol

FlowBastards are played out IMO.....there are lots of good exhaust companies out there to choose from other than BlowMaster

the long tube ARE pretty expensive, and if you dont want to spend that much in it, it will still sound pretty good with just the flowmasters

what do you have right now?

you can run a off road H-pipe meant for stock manifolds (headers) i bought mine for i think 130 from mac through 50resto.com and i just pieced together the rest. alot of people do the 40 series flowmasters cause they sound better for the even firing motor in our cars, most of every other muffler will sound like a weed wacker

its the best option, and it is what sounds the best. you can do 2.75 then you would have to get it bent and fabbed up wich would cost more. if your not a memeber on
v6power.net yet i would strongly recomend visiting their site its based strongly on v6 performance and you can find alot of new and used parts on the site.

I would buy your mufflers somewhere else then bring them to them so you arn't charged their prices on the mufflers.

yeah, go get everything you want (headers, mufflers, cats, whatever) and then go find the place that will put it all together for the least amount of money

I agree with everything but I would go with a chambered magnaflow miffler personally.
