What Kind of tire cleaner?

Hey guys im tired of trying different tire cleaners that dont last for shit! I've tried tire wet, and well a buttload of others and the only thing that last more than 2-3 days is the kind that they use at Firestones. Its a firestone brand that i dont think they sell. What kind do yall use that have been really good for yall?

i take it you mean tire dressing rather than tire cleaner. i use Ture Wet but the important thing to do first is clean the tires really good. when i wash my car, i wash the tires and rims first (then use a fresh bucket for the car itself). i have a scrub brush that i use on the tire to get the grime off. after doing the whole car, i pull it in the garage and apply Tire Wet once the tires are just about dry, then let it cure as long as possible (preferable overnight but at least a few hours).

ive always liked 2001. (now, called 2K1, i believe - its in the neon green bottle) like TBV said - you have to start with a clean tire. i usually spray a heavy coat on, then let it sit for maybe 15 minutes. come back and hit it with a second coat and let it sit another 15 minutes. blingtastic.

yeah well i always do scrub my tires off before applying it, but i guess i just let it sit longer now and see how that works, and is the foam type better?

If you are talking about tire shine, then im in the same boat as you. I have tried everything under the sun. The BEST product is Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet Gel. Its kinda expensive compared to others, around 9 bucks. However it last for weeks. One bottle last me 4 months or more sometimes. Its acutally is a gel that you apply instead of a spray.

i did a lot of car shows and one thing that i heard mosre consistently amongst everyone was like they are saying, 1 a clean tire, and 2 gels can be better, but its also in HOW you put it on...for instance you can have a great spray but if you use an applicator and rub it in to the tires then do it again the shine and effect are going to last a LONG time, i even had times when the tire shine i would use would make it through mild rain and puddles..

I use Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss. Lasts a long time and does not give you that "fake" wet look. It is a gel.

i really never thought about letting it sit or a long time, that makes sense... i have to go to a carwash because we live in a little townhouse and dont have much of a yard or anything... i wanna say that i used an armorall type spray, its lasted a decent amount of time, but i guess like TBV said if i let it sit itd prolly last longer... now that yall are talking about a gel i think ill try that next

yeah i do it twice...the first time it kinda soaks into the tire so it may "dry" a bit out so i do a second coat probably 15 minutes after...i usually clean windows or something in between...

and I have a variety of tire stuff, the one i use for regular DD is black magic tire wet...i have used that Meguiar's Gold Class as well not bad stuff and it smells good too...when I did car shows i would use a gel for the first coat and a spray for the second coat..both however were applied with black magics( i think) curved applicators...i scrub the tire gel into the tire with that, then just apply the spray over it.

i tend to stay away from armor all's products, i just never saw the results outta them that i wanted...go for meguiars, black magic for tire stuff...heard great things about Zaino products but never used them myself...but i know plenty of the guys here would recommend it if asked

I'll add my two cents..

I clean the tires first with a normal wash. Then, while still wet, I use Armor All, The Tire Wet one....

Let it sit, shines alot longer then others I have used. But some of it depends on the tire compound too. The more lettering, grooves, and other junk they put on tires now a days, takes the high shine/gloss effect away. The smoother the tire side, the more shine it will take on.
