What would cause a sparkplug to go Tango Uniform?

One of my plugs are bad in the Cobra (Thanks Toni for testing them!)...they MAY have 5K miles on them...wth would cause this? The car is miss firing, chugging, rough idle...

One other question..who locally sells ngk tr6's? Anyone got the hookup?

thanks

whoa! .35? Can they even be gapped that big? .035 sorry...I will be setting the new ones to that as well...

And Mitch...I was pondering whether or not the car collecting dust could affect the plugs' performance...

I know it's a joke, but if a car does sit too long without being run, the plugs can corrode enough to go bad.

In my opinion, I agree with the "bad plug from the get-go". Maybe running too rich on one cylinder can be cause by a leaking injector or a sensor going bad, .... . I always find that the more you try to keep a mustang garage kept, the more they break .

Like the others have said, bad plug from the beginning. Other possibilities are a misfiring injector or coil pack.
