Whats Corpus like...

..To live in.
Might get an opportunity to Move out there for a drafting position doing pipe work which they will also give me the chance to go back to school and finish that deal off.
My current positon here in SA i do some drafting wrk when here in the office but this position also requires for me to travel alot so thats the reason why i haven't enrolled in school yet and ive looked at a couple online drafting classes but for what im doing..i'd really like to be in a class room and learn it frm there.

notes:
-i have no family (kids,wife) do got a g/f
-have no family/friends in C.C so dont know whats it like
-I've heard that corpus is just for visting not to live in

whats your guys' opionion?

I lived in Corpus for 2 years a back in the late 90's, and unless things have changed then its true what they say about visit the place but don't live there. Theres really not a whole lot out there other than the water and the original whataburger. Only if you're a big fisherman or love the water a whole lot will you like it, otherwise theres not much for ya. The whole towns kinda run down too, though I still love some seafood from Snoopy's.

it sucks. cool to visit but not live there. i lived there for about two years. it gets pretty lonely and you'll be comparing everything to SA.

Yeah i grew up there not much all your shopping is located around the same area the beach can be nice some times and the fishing can be good. But as far as clubs not much there are some decent bars. corpus is small like living just on the nw of san antonio and thats it they have the bayfest, and buccaneer carnival, and the beach to bay if u like to run. The bayfront is nice to go for walks and watch fireworks you can take a boat out but really not much its laid back town use to be a good place to raise a child not sure about that anymore. Snoop's for the win and if you just want some quick seafood go to boat and net.

Corpus sucks but I feel that way about every part of Texas I have ever been in. I would rather be stationed back in the Middle East. Luckily..my wish just came true

Thanks guys,
Hmmm i dunno the only reason ive considered corpus is cause i get to go back to school, stay wrking in the related field and get the chance to go back to school... i've visited corpus like twice and didn't find it really appealing i dunno will see what happends.

from the times i have been there it seems more of a place to visit. but if you can live there for a couple of years and finish school and then come back to sa with your degree might be worth it in the long run. IMO.

Well living in Corpus for 32yrs, I really have no complaints. Just the lack of things to do sometimes. My wife and I like to travel, so we visit all across the US. But hey least I can make it to work in 10 minutes and 10 minutes to get home. Never worry too much about getting stuck in traffic. There are too many old people and anti growth people who like it to stay the same. But now growth is slowly going on. Some people like going to the beach, but I myself live close by, but never want to go. Its just your own preference if you like to be surrounded by mass places and people or like it kind of slow paced. But I work in the refineries were the pay is excellent. But I have no complaints just lack of places to go. But I am cool with traveling to other places. Like I say big cities aren't built over night.

I was born and raised and have been all over the world and the us....and I still perfer corpus....I like it there cause you don't have near as many little punks spray painting everything that doesn't belong to them.....the traffic is alot less congested than SA...fishing and beach are alway fun...usually alway nice and sunny there....and like most said if your not an outdoors type then you may get bored.....

IT SUCKS ASS!!!

I lived down there (Rockport actually) for 3 yrs.
I couldnt get back to SA fast enuf.
BORING doesnt even begin to discribe it.
Along with the fact that your vechile will rust in no time it is always smelly and the salty slime air makes it impossible to keep your ride looking nice.

DONT DO IT!!!!
