Thats weird, I have been having the same problem with my home PC. I had some toolbar spyware and all it would do is take me to there home page and refresh over and over so I couldnt do anything except ctrl alt del to get out. It took me two days to find it and get rid of it.

Same thing happened to me. It changed my home page to a html file that was on my C:\ drive that says i have spyware on my comp . I deleted the html file and now it says it can't find it, which is understandable because it is no longer there. In the mean time it also deleted the "General Tab" on the "tools" "internet Options" drop down menu. So now I cannot set my home page, or delete cookies and temp files from IE.

I reloaded IE and the "General Tab" is still gone.

I installed Spy Bot and Ad-ware on my computer. It cleared off 150+ files and entries of spy stuff and 90+ entries of Ad ware stuff and my computer runs 150 percent better. But I still don't have a "General Tab" to set a home page. IE open up "Blank" and then I have to drop down the address bar and click the address I want.

I went to Computing.net and used CWShredder to get rid of the spyware,

My Disclaimer: Beware that messing with your registry could do more harn than good, read up on it at thier site and make your own conclusion. I'm sure there's some other people here that know more about it.
