Wheel spacer max on 02 GT

What is the maximum wheel spacer thickness I can go on my 02 GT (rear)without issues?

-stock Bullitt rims (and occasionally throw on 9" Bullitt replicas for the track)
-275/40/17 Nittos (also on the 9" rims w/Nitto DRs)

thanks.

I want the rear tires to stick out a little more for a better stance. also, I've never liked the fact that the front stick out as much as they do compared to the rear.

I'm looking at either 1" or 1.25" spacers from Trail Sport unlimited for $80.95 ($68.95 /pr plus $12 shipping). These spacers are bolted on (vs. most that I've seen that don't bolt on).

Your best bet is to get deep dish rims.

What happens is you cause a breaking point between the axle-spacer-wheel.
The factory suds are not designed to take the aditional load placed when wheel spacers are used. Also you don't have enough threds holding the wheel on causing added stress on the wheel stud. The bold on ones are alot safer than the "sandwiched" between the axle and wheel, but they are still prone to breakage...
Look at it this way, when u run a wire do you ...
A. run one piece of wire with a connection at either end
B. splice 4-5 pieces of wire together with but-connectors

Although if you are just running them on the street you should be fine, its just at the track you are more apt to get traction. And we all know Traction=breakage just ask proudcamaro.
