Wheel widening in Texas?
Anyone know of a place I can get 2 wheels widened? I want to widen my rear 96 cobra rims. I know i can get them done at Weld Craft but i'd like to do them more closer to home. I don't think anyone it the RGV can do this right.
Does anyone know of a place? |

I don't know of any places either, but I'd like mine widened an inch as well.

Gabe, Try Wheels America...
1-800-341-1501 (Dallas) 210-590-0602 (San Antonio) the S.A. office won't do them here but they'll ship to Dallas for you and charge you frieght or call the 1-800 # and maybe you can shipped them to Dallas.

Thanks Rich! I just saw a post on DFWStangs.net about widening and they mentioned Wheels America. $380 one guy paid to have his 17x8 10Spoke GT wheels widened to 17x10. Not bad. Saves me on having to purchase new rims. I am getting to love these wheels :jeff:

whoops!...widening would be good on nice clean wheels...
Mine, on the other hand, have to be re-finished. So, here is the breakdown they gave me: Widening of 2 wheels to 10" wide $200 x 2 wheels = $400 Refinishing all 4 wheels $109 x 4 wheels = $436 Shipping to and from $15 x 8 (4 wheels, to them and back to me) = $120 Total: $400 + $436 + $120 = $956:2thumbdwn Set of 17x9 and 17x10.5 03 Cobra's = Proably for like 700 or so..HOPEFULLY..waiting on a quote... :jeff: Looks like I will be changing rims soon. |

100/wheel for widening would cost more than my rims did... total. oh well, my v6 prob won't need 9" wide wheels anyways. :haha3:

lol...I originally just paid 175 for my cobra's...so from the cost, not really worth it for me.
Now, AFS has the 03 Cobra's in 17x9 and 17x10.5 for $679. NOT BAD! Since the '96 is gonna be more show than go, that's why I want the 10.5" rears. U still running v6 rims upfront and 99 cobras on back? ![]() Edit: $744 to my door...

Dude, type in AFS mustang in the Ebay search bar and have at it.
I got my 2 18x9's and 2 18x10.5's there for $525 shipped. The auctions are actual AFS auctions. Great rims........ :jeff:
