Lone Star Performance open house

FYI Lone Star Performance is having open house this Saturday (6-11-05) Car show, bike show, free food and drinks, discounted in-house dyno pulls. If you are in the Garland area, shift by and scan this event out. Me and some stang buddies will attend. --- 3601 Forest Lane Garland, TX

Sounds like fun. I have been wanting to hit up a car show for a few months now, but this is at LoneStar. I refuse to set foot in that place.

Cool

Forgot to mention bikini bike wash, sexy shoe shine girls, and 10 dollar dyno pulls..... I cruise with a group of local stang-ers and we don't hate. If it's about chillin' with friends and cruising, we'll set foot in any place. AKA SECO

No hate. If this was at HPP or DMP I would be all over it.

When I'm in town I stay in Plano, or in Rockwall to the east. I hang around Addison and south Plano while I'm in town. (went to high school there)

why all the hate of Lonestar? I have heard bad things about DMP from several people, but only good things about Lonestar in Garland.

Probably because their idiots. My three experiences.

1. I had a dyno scheduled on a Friday at noon. I leave on my lunch break and when I get there they had a "rush" dyno tune on a supercharged 93 lighting. Due to the lighting owner being a friend of the shop, it didn’t matter what I had to say about waiting. So I wait, and two hours later they finally finish with the lighting. They tell me to hurry and bring my car over. I told them I wanted the motor to be at normal operating temperature because that where she runs best at the track. I was told they didn’t have time and if I wanted to dyno the car today it had to be now. So they dyno my car and its pull after pull after pull with absolutely no down time between runs. It took no longer than 60 seconds once they had the car strapped before they were done.

2. I went there to buy a Steeda cold air intake and once I get home I am missing both sleeves and plug for the IAT sensor hole. I called and was told they had to be there and if not I need to call Steeda and that basically it wasn't their problem.

3. My last visit was an emergency. It was the Friday before FFW last year and my lead on some weld pro stars fell through. So I head over there (not wanting to) to pick up two 15x3.5 pro stars and spacers. They charged me 25 more per rim than what I could have gotten them from at Jegs or Summit. I then asked what size of spacer I needed because I forgot and they tell me their really not sure but they think it’s the 5/16's ones. Well that wasn't the right size. I needed the 7/16's ones.

Anyway, that’s my experience when them. If a Mustang shop can't tell me what size spacer I need, then their idiots. Not to mention their customer service is just barley above DMP's which is not saying much at all.

Enough with the J.K.Rowling writer and his unfortunate experiences at Lone Star Performance. If it were me, there would'nt have been a 2nd visit. If one wants to pay sky-scrapper prices on labor --go to Dallas Mustang. If you install yourself; you got it made. Time to change thread....

Well for your info, I do all my own work except for rear end which HPP takes care of. Since my first experience with LoneStar I have only gone back when that was my only option. I understand you can’t please everyone all the time, but three times of insufficient service in a row is just a sorry shop and that’s all there is to it.
