which type of model kit...

amt or revell? i found 2 fox body model kits i want.. which one will be better? i like the revell style better but im more worried about quality of the kit... anyone who has experience with both, let me know what you think.. the only big difference, the amt is a reg. gt hatch, and the revell is a cobra...

the revell is newest of the 2 and IMO better quality and detail than the AMT kit

cool.. i'll more than likely go w/ that one then.. plus the cobra styling looks much better and the stupid gt wheels look crappy as hell on the amt model

AMT used to make some good kits back in the late '90s. I have 5 of their '97 Cobra's and GT's and a couple of their '67 GT-350's in storage

Revell owns AMT is quality. And i'm sure Kat will agree. We have a few models lying around

Hrmmm....Revell has kinda disappointed me lately; their castings in the last year or so have used a new style of plastic that is very reactive to normal spraypaints. I think they've fixed it some, but I still have issues with their re-releases. Make sure you do a ton of surface prep and use several thin coats of Krylon primer to seal it before you apply paint. They've been using the same molds for the 93 Cobra kit since they released it, but the fitment is still good as far as I can tell. I've always had issues with AMT's fitment. lol...Any other questions?

yea i bought the revell... i'm not worried about the prep.. i like to prime and sand models anyway.. not just spray base.. never turns out right.. i always end up with bubbles if i do it the latter way

Awww man... Is that the closest you're gonna get to a Stang David? Good pick, go Revell! My Brother in-law did a model of my 93, but the differences are... The fact I got a LX, the hood, model has no wing and the rims... He said he picked them off of a PT Cruiser. Anyways, I think this shit looks awesome! Sorry for the dark pics.

that's absolutely not the closest i'm gonna get.. if anything, looking at the model should motivate me to get my motor done so i can buy the chassis.. especially since my sunbird has been giving me problems lately.. i have an electrical short somewhere that i can't figure out
