The trans will bolt up, the flywheel will be the problem. You will need a 157 tooth 28 oz. imballace flywheel. The 5.0 fly wheel is 157 tooth 50 oz. imballance. That is the first problem you will have, if the engine makes much power and the trans is not built properly it will not last long.

Here that about the flywheel problem with my 351W swap. I took my stock 302 flywheel to a local auto parts store to exchange as a core to get a new on, and took the new one to a machine shop to have it rebalanced to 28oz.

The T-5 will live as long as you don't hook up. Get it together and start looking for a Tremec to replace the T-5.

As said above , you will need a 28OZ flywheel . Other than that the T5 will fit right in but probably will not last very long .
